Growing up I remember the fable “The Tortoise and the Hare” where the tortoise’s determined and deliberate approach wins the race.

As your County Supervisor, I may not be the kind of leader who rushes through decisions, but I am uniquely proud of my accomplishments.

We have delivered a great deal together for East County.

After years of pushing and prodding, we achieved successes that are unheard of in other counties. We added two more lanes to Highway 4 from Railroad Avenue to Loveridge Road. We secured the right of way for widening Highway 4 to Somersville Road. It took a decade of prompting to build the new Highway 4 Bypass – the only fully-funded bypass in California.

After years of speaking out, we convinced Bay Area transportation leaders to finance $523 million to bring eBART to Antioch. I want Antioch residents riding eBART in six years.

This year, we sponsored several events: A first-ever “Gang Prevention Summit,” a “Mortgage Foreclosure” workshop for struggling families; and a “Building Community” forum for residents to speak out. We killed the proposal to build a prison in Antioch.

I have dedicated this website to the many accomplishments we have delivered together for all of East County. I would be honored to have your trust and support for re-election to the Board of Supervisors on June 3rd – as we have many more things to accomplish together.

Thank you.
